Marie Jeanne 1900 Tuna FisherKits

The Marie Jeanne was a tuna fishing vessel from the French Harbour of Concarneau. She was part of the fishing fleet which sailed between the years of 1900 and 1950. She fished for tuna each year between the months of June and October sailing as far as the African island of Mauritania. Each voyage could last as long as two months depending on how long it would take to fill her hold. The trend to diesel engine propulsion contributed to the disappearnace of these sturdy fishing boats which often sported colorful sails.
